On-Demand Collection and intercampus requests

You can request library items available from the On-Demand Collection or from another library.

Request items from the On-Demand Collection or from another library

If the Catalogue shows that an item is 'Available' in the On-Demand Collection or at another library, you can request it using the Catalogue.
Note: You must be signed in to the Catalogue to see the Request options.

Books, journal volumes and other items will be sent to your nominated pickup location

  1. Use the Catalogue to locate the record of the item you want.
  2. Click on the title to see the 'Request Options'.
  3. Select 'Get item' and fill in the details.
  4. You will be emailed when the item is ready to collect from your nominated library.

Journal articles and book chapters located in the On-Demand Collection or at another library will be emailed to you

  1. Use the Catalogue to locate the record of the journal or book containing the item you want.
  2. Click on the title to see the ‘Request Options’.
  3. Select 'Get part'.
    Tick the box and enter details (e.g., page numbers for the article or chapter) in the 'Part to Digitize' field.
    Note: Copyright conditions apply.
  4. A digital copy of the item will be emailed to you.

This delivery service is for items located in the On-Demand Collection or at another library

  • It is not possible to request items located in the same library as your pickup location. 
  • Items are commonly provided within one business day, but please allow 2-3 working days.
  • If you require items urgently, we recommend that you travel to the relevant library in person (except for On-Demand Collection).

If you are registered with the Flexible Service, you can place a Request for home delivery using the Home delivery pickup location. Note that only registered Flexible patrons are given this option for pickup location.

Newmarket Campus

You can have books delivered to the Newmarket Campus and use the delivery service to return books to the City Campus.

Copyright conditions

You may request:

  • One article from a specific issue of a journal at any one time, or more from the same journal issue if they are on the same topic.
  • A reasonable proportion of a published edition.

Requested items may only be used for your research, or private study and purposes.
