Book impact

Book reviews, citations to books and library ownership of books are indicators of impact. Use these databases to look for book reviews, track citations, or see which libraries own your books:

Additional approaches to measuring book impact include:

  • The reputation of the publisher.
  • A cultural event in which the book is featured.
  • Discussion of books in popular media, or in non-print format, e.g., radio programmes.
  • Awards and prizes.
  • Publisher investment in new editions, translations, reprints, versions.
  • The impact on teaching, e.g., how the book helped students to engage critically with ideas.
