A collection of datasets for applied life sciences, comprising full-text articles, and including literature reviews, news articles and reports.
The University has access to the CAB Abstracts component of CAB Direct, as well as the CAB Crop Protection Compendium, which can be accessed separately.
CAB Abstracts covers agricultural literature (including forestry) from 1973, adding 300,000 abstracts per year. Coverage includes journals, proceedings and books, and most entries have English abstracts.
A key component of CAB abstracts is the Review of Plant Pathology, a monthly abstracting journal which covers world literature on disease of crop and ornamental plants and forest trees caused by fungi, bacteria, viruses, phytoplasmas, non-parasitic diseases and mycorrhizas. Taxonomy, morphology, genetics, physiology, molecular biology, control, fungicides, antibiotics, regulation and quarantine are all covered in the database.
