The BiblioInformatics Service

The BiblioInformatics service aims to assist University of Auckland academic staff and doctoral students to identify, track and measure the impact of their research outputs.

The service is coordinated by the Libraries and Learning Services Research Support Services team, and is available to the following faculties:

  • Faculty of Arts
  • Faculty of Business and Economics
  • Faculty of Education and Social Work
  • Faculty of Engineering
  • Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences
  • Faculty of Science

The service consists of the following components:

Report Consultation Online guides
  • Generate a report using data from the Research Outputs system. Information includes:
    • Your h-index.
    • Citation rates for your top cited publications.
    • Impact values of the journals in which you publish.
  • Note: The accuracy of citation rates and your h-index in the report is based on your Scopus and Web of Science publications in Research Outputs.
  • Discuss approaches to demonstrating the impact of your research outputs with your Subject Librarian. This may include

    • Tracking citations.
    • Alternatives to citations such as book reviews.
    • Increasing the visibility of your research outputs.
  • Use the self-service information on research impact sources and approaches, from book impact through to altmetrics (activity around publications) and reach.
