Architecture and Planning Library

Te Herenga Whaihanga

The Architecture and Planning Library supports the research, teaching and learning needs of the staff and students in the School of Architecture and Planning.

About the Library

The Architecture and Planning Library was established as a separate library within the University Library system in 1927. Professor CR Knight, the first chair in Architecture, donated a collection of his architecture books to form the nucleus of a reference collection, and the library developed from these beginnings.

Resources in the Architecture and Planning Library include architecture and urban planning history, theory and practice; architectural and urban design; building materials and construction; urban sustainable design and development.

The Architecture and Planning Library includes several special collections of unique resources including the Architecture Archive. To learn more about the collections of the Architecture and Planning Library, see Collections.
