Our adviser teams

Libraries and Learning Services advisers have a particular focus and/or functional expertise and work collaboratively to facilitate the best possible outcomes.


Academic Engagement 

  • Develop strategic and sustainable relationships and partnerships with faculty to align Libraries and Learning Services initiatives and projects with faculty research, learning and teaching objectives.
  • Communicate and promote Libraries and Learning Services resources, services and initiatives.
  • Connect faculty members with functional experts, services and collections.   
  • The Māori Academic Engagement Adviser and Pacific Academic Engagement Adviser work across all faculties to support Māori and Pacific strategic faculty priorities and needs.  

Research Services 

  • Offer consultations on information resources, researcher profiles and identifiers, impact and metrics, research data management, open access and scholarly publishing.
  • Support the use of Research Outputs and repositories.
  • Collaborate to develop, support and deliver researcher skills development, including the Doctoral Skills Programme (in partnership with the School of Graduate Studies).
  • Partner with research stakeholders to support University research reporting and benchmarking.

Learning and Teaching Development 

  • Design and deliver online resources which support the development of students’ academic literacy skills.
  • Partner with academic colleagues to identify how existing initiatives can be delivered in a more sustainable, meaningful way to better meet students’ needs.
  • Partner with academic colleagues to identify new opportunities to integrate student academic skills development as well as the graduate Profiles/Capabilities into the curriculum.
  • Ensure the diverse needs of our students are recognised and appropriate, inclusive solutions are created.
