This is a listing of theses presented from 2001 onwards in the Department of Geography, the Department of Environmental Science, the School of Environmental and Marine Science, the School of Geography and Environmental Science, the School of Geography, Geology and Environmental Science, and from August 2009 the School of Environment. The Department of Geography was established in 1946, and the first geography theses were presented in 1949. The School of Environmental and Marine Science (SEMS) was established in the mid 1990s, and the final SEMS thesis at Master's level was presented in 2003. Ph.D. theses in Environmental and Marine Science continued to be presented until 2007. The School of Geography and Environmental Science (SGES) came into being in 2002. A Masters degree in Environmental Management was introduced in 2004, replacing the former Diploma in Environmental Management. Geology became part of the School on 1 November 2006. This guide to theses presented in the School of Environment and its predecessors is in chronological sequence. The date used in the call number represents the year in which the thesis was catalogued, which may differ from the year of completion. Within each year the arrangement is alphabeticaly arranged according to author. For further bibliographic details, you need to consult the library’s Voyager catalogue which you can search using a combination of different parameters (author, title, keyword, year etc), or the Theses and Dissertations link. The colour key indicates which part of the School the thesis was completed in, as indicated on the title page of the thesis. The call numbers listed in the first column are preceded by the word ‘thesis’ followed by a space. For example, the call number of the thesis by C.J. Berry would be as follows: thesis 01-217.
