Lending Information

Lending Services:

Lending Services are available to help patrons with all procedures related to borrowing, recalling and returning books, library fines, fees and Interlibrary Loan charge enquiries.

Recall items:

If an item is on loan to someone else, you can Recall it. The item will then automatically be assigned with a shortened due date. There are two ways to Recall an item:

Place a Recall yourself using Voyager (the Library catalogue)
Display the item record for the item you require. Click on the Recall button at the top of the screen. Follow the on-screen instructions. You will find the 14 digit barcode on your blue ID card. You can select the Library from where you would like to collect the item.

Place a Recall for the item at the Lending Desk
You will need your ID card, the item's call number and the title of the item you wish to Recall.

What Happens When an Item is Recalled?
A Recall Notice providing the new due date is sent to the person who has the item. This new date overrides the original due date. The person who already has the item will have a maximum of five days from the date of the Recall Notice before the item is due. The notice will be sent by email wherever possible, or to a postal address.

Recalled items should be returned as soon as possible. One overdue Recall will result in borrowing privileges being temporarily withdrawn. Overdue recalled items incur a fine of $3.00 per day.

What Happens When a Recalled Item is Returned?
By clicking on the Patron button in Voyager, you can check the status of items you have recalled. Recalled items are held for five days at the Lending Desk nominated for collection. An Item Available Notice will be sent to students who have supplied an email address. This notice will indicate the date by which the item must be collected.

Note: Please update your e-mail address either at the Continuing Education office or at the Lending Desk, General Library.
