The Role of your
Subject Librarian is:
- to link the Library with schools,
departments and the faculty
- to provide an important link between
students, academic, research and support staff
- to ensure the teaching and learning
needs of the University community are met
- to liaise with the schools,
departments and the faculty to ensure academic staff and students
have the necessary resources
- to conduct information literacy
training sessions
- to conduct general orientation
sessions for new students
- to provide advanced training sessions
on specialist subject information
- to co-ordinate the selection of new
materials for purchase, and remove and discard older material
