The Role of your Subject Librarian is:

  • to link the Library with schools, departments and the faculty
  • to provide an important link between students, academic, research and support staff
  • to ensure the teaching and learning needs of the University community are met
  • to liaise with the schools, departments and the faculty to ensure academic staff and students have the necessary resources
  • to conduct information literacy training sessions
  • to conduct general orientation sessions for new students
  • to provide advanced training sessions on specialist subject information
  • to co-ordinate the selection of new materials for purchase, and remove and discard older material
