Title or Serial Title 

• Title / Serial Title - enter the first words: omit a, an, the, nga, le, der etc as the first word:     sun also rises

  Serials include journals, e-journals, newspapers, magazines, periodicals, yearbooks, etc.

Author 

• For people enter the family (last) name first:    dickens c 
• For organisations, enter the first few words of the name:    organisation for economic
• Department must be abbreviated to dept:    new zealand dept of conservation
• Limits cannot be used on this search.

Call Number

• Call Number - enter as much of the number as you know; include punctuation: 801.959      174.93b26        wm100h322
• Limits cannot be used on this search.

Keyword Relevance

• Use + to mark essential terms:business +insurance
• Use quotes to search phrases: "treaty of waitangi"
• Use ? to truncate:nation? will search for nation, nations, national etc
• Use ! before a term you don't want drugs !alcohol

Keyword Boolean

• Use and,or,not to combine search terms maori and health
• Use opening/closing brackets to specify search order

(polynesian or maori) and (achievement or success)
If you do not use brackets, Voyager will perform your search in the following order: 

1. 'and' search statement
2. 'not' search statement
3. 'or' search statement 
 
• Use quotes to search phrases "treaty of waitangi"
