Using EndNote with Voyager
(the Library Catalogue)
There is a Connection File that can be used with Voyager.
Obtaining the Connection File
- A Voyager connection file is supplied by EndNote.
- If the connection file
that comes with EndNote doesn't work, then you will need to
click on the following link to download the
U
Auckland connection file. EndNote must be closed when you download new connection files. Save the
U Auckland.enz file into the
one of the following locations:
- Windows users should save the file in a folder (eg: endnotex3connections) in one of the following locations: C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\My Documents\ (for Windows XP) or C:\Users\[User Name]\ Documents\ (for Windows Vista or Windows 7).
- Macintosh users should save the file in Macintosh HD >>Applications >>EndNoteX3 >>connections
You will need to make sure the EndNote folder locations match where you are saving the file. In EndNote select Edit > Preferences > Folder Locations to check the locations.
Using the Connection File
- Open EndNote (Start >> Programs >> EndNote >>
EndNote Program) and open your EndNote library.
- From EndNote click on Tools >> Online Search. Choose either
Online Search to display a list of connection files available then select
the required one. Or click on the name of the database connection file
if it is already displaying. If you’ve previously used a connection
file it will display in this window for future use.
- EndNote has now established a link into Voyager and the EndNote
search screen will open, any search you do now will be a live search
of Voyager.
- For more information on using the
online search feature in EndNote refer to the
latest EndNote handout.
