Handouts & Guides

EndNote Manual: The EndNote program install no longer includes the (800+ page) manual. To obtain a copy of the comprehensive Endnote X5 user manual please download it here.

EndNote Getting Started Guide: This guide is available on your computer when you install Endnote X5 on your computer. For Windows computers you can get to it via Start >> Programs >> EndNote >> Getting Started Guide and on Macintosh computers via Macintosh HD >> Applications >> EndNote X5 >> EndNote.pdf. It requires the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to view it and that can be downloaded from covers both Mac and Windows versions of EndNote and provides clear step-by-step instructions for most basic processes. Using this in conjunction with some of the guides and online tutorials covered below would provide an excellent introduction to EndNote.

Handouts: The Library also provides the following class handouts and guides, most of these documents are based on the official EndNote Manual, but have been adapted to suit the University of Auckland. Always refer to the official EndNote Manual if you need in-depth or technical assistance.
